  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - Cal Kestis
    Time: Dec. 9, 2019

Cal Kestis, star protagonist of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Origin CD Key Global, has been in the spotlight in Escapist for several weeks.

We found it boring and generic, someone who often did not follow the true path of a Jedi. Although Cal is a bit boring and his backgrounds a bit dark, I saw him as the reluctant protagonist, forced into a situation where he really didn't want a role, but had no choice but to attend.

In the plot of Fallen Order, players are supposed to know a lot about the events in the Star Wars universe. Cal hides from the Empire after executing Command 66 and the fall of the Jedi Order. The Empire and the Inquisitors are looking for the remaining survivors, many of whom hid or were completely isolated from the force.

Cal quickly classifies himself as hungry for power in the Fallen Order campaign because he has no choice but to save his friend Prauf in an accident on the planet Bracca. From that moment on, Cal has no choice but to survive and use the remaining time for the future goal. This intrinsically provides the context for many of Cal's actions during the game and makes sense to him.

It is important to remember that Cal Kestis is not a Jedi during most of the game, but is simply another person in the galaxy who is sensitive to power. He survived Order 66 and was trained as a Jedi Padawan, but he never had the opportunity to finish his studies and become a true Jedi.

Cal must take down dozens of stormtroopers and other beings on the planet that you visit as part of the Order of the Fallen campaign to stay alive. The empire wants to kill him. Although the Jedi Order may have been peacemakers before the clone wars and Order 66, they are now only survivors, and the old rules are no longer valid in most cases.

We don't really need a moment of self-reflection from Cal Kestis, given the circumstances. He is killing or being killed, and Cal knows it. In fact, Cal really doesn't understand what it is to be a Jedi until the last moments of the game.

In the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order story, it's not really about finding the holocron. We know from the beginning how this story will end. The true story of Fallen Order is about the survivors of Order 66, Cal, Cere or even the second sister, who reconcile with the trauma and loss that inflicts them and find a reason to move on.
